1. Agreement

This End User Licence Agreement (the "Agreement") is between Tomáš Kopečný, Czech Republic, ID no. 71944435, trading as Hillious Fonts (the "Licensor"), and you, the person or organisation that buys or downloads the fonts (the "Licensee").

"Font Software" means the Metr Grotesk fonts in any format (OTF, TTF, WOFF2 and the variable font), together with any updates the Licensor provides.

By installing, copying or using the Font Software you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not use the Font Software.

The Font Software is licensed, not sold. Your licence is the one named on your purchase receipt.

2. Licence types

Each licence covers the styles bought: one style, or the whole family of 10 styles plus the variable font. The variable font comes only with the family.

Desktop: Installing the fonts on computers to make static output: print, images, video, logos, PDFs. Limit: 1–3 users; extended tiers up to 10 or 25 users.

Web: Embedding the WOFF2 fonts with @font-face on websites you own or run for a client. Limit: up to 20,000 page views a month across all sites.

App: Embedding the fonts in one app or game title on all platforms. Limit: up to 10,000 or 250,000 users per title; larger on request.

A "user" is one person who has access to the fonts on any device.
Students get 50% off a Desktop licence for non-commercial study work.
To go past a limit, buy the next tier; you pay only the difference.

3. What you may and may not do

You may:

Use the Font Software for personal and commercial work, within your licence limits.
Embed the fonts in PDFs and other documents for viewing and printing (preview and print embedding).
Make sold products with it: printed matter, merchandise, packaging, logos and other static output.
Give a temporary copy to a printer or service bureau to output your job, provided they delete it afterwards.
Keep backup copies for your own use.

You may not:

Share, sell, rent, sublicense or give away the Font Software, or put it where others can download it.
Modify, convert, rename or create derivative fonts from it, except for subsetting web or app fonts for your own licensed use.
Use it in a product that lets end users set their own text in the font, such as a template, theme, print-on-demand editor or font tool, without a separate written licence.
Use the Font Software to train, fine-tune or evaluate AI or machine-learning models that generate fonts or glyphs.
Remove the copyright notice or licence information from the font files.

4. Ownership and updates

The Licensor owns the Font Software and all copyright in it. Metr Grotesk is the Licensor's trade name. Updates of version 1.x are free for existing licensees. A new major version may be offered as a paid upgrade.

5. Termination

This Agreement ends automatically if you break any of its terms. You must then stop using the Font Software and delete all copies. Work you made and published before termination may stay in use.

6. Warranty and liability

The Font Software is provided "as is". The Licensor gives no warranty beyond what the law requires. If a file is faulty, contact the Licensor within 30 days of purchase for a replacement or a refund. To the extent the law allows, the Licensor's liability is limited to the price you paid.

7. Governing law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Consumers keep any mandatory rights they have under the law of their own country.
